Times Table Star
A pet that only grows when your child practises their times tables.
Free to download. No adverts, no accounts, no tracking.
Practice that looks after something
Times Table Star is a maths practice game for children. Your child chooses an egg and raises the pet inside it, and the only thing that makes that pet grow is answering questions: the times tables first, then division and missing numbers.
Feeding, washing, tickling and tucking in at bedtime keep the pet happy. Practice is what helps it grow up.

A few moments from the app itself.
-
Answer and celebrate
Rounds of ten questions are the only thing that helps a pet grow, with a celebration to enjoy along the way.
-
Tricks it has learned
Sit, Spin, High Five, Roll, Take a Bow and Dance, each learned as the pet gets cleverer and then there to ask for whenever your child likes.
-
The Playground
With Everything, the pets share a Playground where they play together.
-
Race a Friend
Two iPhones or iPads side by side get the same ten questions at the same moment, with no internet and no accounts.
What is inside
Everything here is in the app today.
Eleven pets
A star, a kitten, an axolotl, a Siamese cat, a puppy, an owl, a tortoise, a dragon, a capybara, a rabbit and a fox. Your child picks their first egg from all eleven.
Race a friend
Two iPhones or iPads side by side get the same ten questions at the same moment, and the faster correct answer takes the point. No internet and no accounts: the devices talk directly over an encrypted link, and no names or messages are ever sent between them.
Grows through stages
Egg, Baby, Kid, Whizz and Genius, and then on through five more ranks. Every step is earned by answering questions.
Six tricks
Sit, Spin, High Five, Roll, Take a Bow and Dance, each learned as the pet gets cleverer. Once learned, a trick is your child's to ask for whenever they like.
Rooms and themes
Five themes, from Candy Pop to Galaxy, each with three rooms for the pet to live in, and decorations for birthdays and every season.
Daily Challenge
A fresh set of questions every day, the same for everyone, with bonus stars the first time it is finished.
Division and Missing Number
Once the times tables are well under way, two more subjects open up, each with its own levels, so practice grows with your child.
Progress for parents
A panel in Settings shows how the maths is going: days played, stars earned, the level reached in each subject, and which facts are still tricky and which have been cracked. It is written for grown ups, not as a grade.
Room for brothers and sisters
Each child can have their own player, with their own pets, stars and progress, on the same device.
Short films
Three short films about Times Table Star. They only play when you press play.

For parents
Times Table Star is designed to be something you can hand to a child without a second thought.
- No advertsNone at all, and no ad networks or advertising identifiers.
- No accountsNothing to sign up for. A player is simply a name your child types, and a nickname is fine.
- No tracking and no data collectionNo analytics and no crash reporting services. We run no servers, so there is nowhere for your child's information to go.
- Progress stays with your familyEverything is kept on the device and backed up to your own private iCloud, which we cannot read. It follows your child to a new iPhone or iPad on the same Apple Account.
- The AI chat is off unless you turn it onAn optional feature lets the pet talk. It is switched off by default, sits behind a parental gate, and uses your own AI provider key, so conversations run on your account. You can read or erase them, or switch the feature off, at any time.
- What is earned is keptNothing your child earns by practising is ever taken away or put behind a price.
This website follows the same rules: no cookies, no analytics and no third party scripts. Read the full privacy policy.
